Built by a Woodworker, for Woodworkers

After I retired, I took up woodworking as a hobby. As I started building out my shop, a friend recommended that I get a Festool MFT table and track saw. I had never even heard of Festool, but my friend was convincing, so I went to my local Rockler store and came home with both.

It didn’t take long to understand what all the fuss was about. I loved the MFT table and the track saw—but, as it turns out, that was just the beginning.

The shop vac I was using was painfully loud, and once again, Festool seemed to have the answer: their line of Dust Extractors. Festool makes some excellent tools, and while I think there’s a good argument that they are worth the price, I wasn’t eager to pay full retail.

Then I discovered festoolrecon.com.

Festool Recon is Festool’s outlet for reconditioned tools, offering many of their tools at a significant discount. For someone like me who was slowly building a shop and discovering how many Festool tools I “needed,” it was a game-changer.

I built the Festool Recon Monitor to solve a simple problem: making it easier to snag the exact tool you need before it sells out.

  • Never miss a restock: Track inventory drops in real time.
  • Save time: Stop manually refreshing the recon store every day.
  • Save budget: Keep more money in the bank for your next sheet of Baltic birch or rough-sawn hardwood.

I made this tool first for myself, shared it with a few friends, and now it’s here for you.

Give the Festool Recon Monitor a spin, set up your alerts, and let me know how it works for you. If you pick up a tool using the site or have thoughts on how to make it better, leave a comment below!
